Backend Foundations with Node & Express
Your gateway to careers in Backend Software Development. Learn the fundamentals of Node.js, Express, and databases while leveraging AI-assisted workflows. For CS001 graduates or students with equivalent programming background.
About this Course
Backend development powers every modern application, and this prep course is your launchpad into that world.
In six focused weeks, you'll refresh your JavaScript with ES6+ essentials, then dive deep into Node.js fundamentals and how to build HTTP APIs with Express. You'll learn to work with relational databases using MySQL, add authentication to your APIs, and use AI-assisted workflows to accelerate your development.
The course culminates in a capstone project where you build a production-style REST API plus a CLI tool to interact with it - the exact skills you need before stepping into our BDP main-semester program.
If you've finished CS001 or have equivalent programming experience, this is the most efficient path to backend-ready skills.
